Tony is the co-founder of Acceleration Training Concepts, a unique performance training facility.
Tony is FMS (Functional Movement Screen) certified and is an instructor in the certification process. He has participated in the Titleist Performance Institute Program and has earned certification by the Kenneth Cooper Institute and The American College of Sports Medicine.
Power Plate North America organization has awarded Tony levels I, II, and III certifications. Whole Body Vibration delivered by The Power Plate is an important modality utilized at Acceleration Training Concepts Studio. Tony is one of the education trainers in Texas and this region qualified to provide Power Plate certification training. These courses have been offered to trainers, physical therapists, doctors, and anyone who wishes to become more knowledgeable and obtain certification in Whole Body Vibration. These courses are provided in the Center of Excellence located in the Acceleration Training Concepts facility, under the direction of Power Plate Corporate.
Tony and Dr. James Bocell are co-owners of Acceleration Training Concepts. Dr. Bocell is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. The two have developed a unique approach to physical training that starts with an initial evaluation, which incorporates Functional Movement Screening and sometimes orthopedic assessments to identify injuries, weaknesses, post-operative situations, etc. The staff then creates a customized exercise routine for each client including Whole Body Vibration with the Power Plate as well as functional modalities.
Tony holds an appointment in the athletic department as the corrective exercise specialist at Rice University. He is involved with assessments and strength training for the various programs including football, baseball, women's soccer, men's soccer, and women's volleyball. During the football season, Tony can be found on the sidelines at home and away games.
The Talamini family has strong roots in the Houston area, beginning with his father who was a professional athlete for 10 years for the NFL. He played for the Houston Oilers and the New York Jets helping them to a Super Bowl III victory.
Dr. Bocell is a co-owner of Acceleration Training Concepts and an Orthopedic Surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in sports medicine.
He graduated from Harvard University in 1969 and received his M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1973.
He completed a year of General Surgery residency and a 4-year residency in orthopedic Surgery, all at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
He then spent a year in Columbus, Georgia doing a sports medicine fellowship with Dr. Jack Hughston. Dr. Bocell's entire private practice has been in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas, where he held faculty appointments at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals. In addition, he currently holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, UTMB, Galveston, Texas.
He founded the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute and trained medical students, interns, residents, and fellows. He served as team physician for a number of athletic teams, including the Houston Oilers.
Dr. Bocell has always enjoyed athletic pursuits, competing in organized sports at the high school and college levels, and continues his dedication to personal fitness.
As the Medical Director for Acceleration Training Concepts, he participates in the initial evaluation of new clients to document medical issues, weaknesses, and areas of concern. In conjunction with the training staff, he helps develop customized training protocols for each client. The resulting philosophy and methodology of these exercise programs is a combination of medical input, exercise physiology, kinesiology, and sports performance.
Derek is a life-long resident of the Houston area and is a graduate of Bellaire High School and Rice University.
After achieving high school All-State honors as an infielder at Bellaire, Derek went on to play baseball for four years for the acclaimed Rice Owl baseball team where he participated in an unprecedented 3 consecutive College World Series. Although baseball was Derek's expertise, he has always been actively involved in multiple sporting activities. After 4 years of strength and conditioning training at Rice, Derek has continued his own daily workouts.
Derek graduated from Rice in 2009 with Bachelor's Degrees in Kinesiology and Psychology. He is presently pursuing a Master's Degree from the University of Houston - Clearlake in Fitness & Human Performance. He is a certified Personal Trainer through American College of Sports Medicine, Level I Power Plate certified, and is actively pursuing certifications as an NSCA-CSCS (National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) and FMS (Functional Movement Screen) specialist. Derek is also a licensed Massage Therapist by the State of Texas.
Mark was born and raised in Houston where he attended Lamar High School and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Exercise Science.
He currently holds a personal training certification from the American College of Exercise and is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also credentialed by Power Plate and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
Zach graduated from Arizona State University with Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Wellness.
He is a certified Personal Trainer through American College of Sports Medicine. He is certified FMS (Functional Movement Screen) specialist, and attained his Level I Power Plate certification.
Zach has always been actively involved in multiple sporting activities such as Football, Golf, Hiking, Snowboarding, and Mountain Biking. Staying active and assisting others to pursue health and wellness is his passion.
Cameron Talamini is a graduate of Texas State University where he majored in Health and Fitness Management and minored in Business Administration.
He played rugby there for 4 years, winning 2 Texas Division titles. He is certified in Power Plate training and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). His future goals include getting his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS).
After graduating from high school, she entered the United States Army, where she advanced to the rank of Specialist.
After sustaining a stress fracture of the hip, she received an honorable medical discharge. She then entered Houston Community College and attended school full-time while working full-time. She has worked in the hospitality industry for 8 years. She received an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and also an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising. She won numerous competitions in the fashion industry while attending Houston Community College including a scholarship award from The Federation of Houston Professional Women. She completed internships at Etui as well as with Elizabeth Kim, a well-known fashion mentor. Her future plans include returning to school for a degree in Business Administration.
Robin was one of the first to help ATC with its start-up phase back in December 2007.
For 16 years, she worked for Dave & Buster's as the Business Manager and was the Regional Business Manager for Texas. Amongst her duties was the responsibility for processing invoices, payroll, receiving and keeping track of all expenses.
She works at ATC part time performing duties related to data entry and processing of all invoices and billing. She is a native Houstonian and currently lives in Pearland with her husband Mike and their daughter Morgan. She is a competitive triathlete, just starting her 5th season.
She has competed in many local sprint races, as well as Half Ironmans, Ironman Arizona and Ironman Florida.
